THE DANGERS OF SEX EDUCATION WITHOUT RELIGION’S GUIDANCE

Adolescent is very important for every child both of boys and girls. It happens in 12 until 20 years old. But in fact, girls grow up more quickly than boys because of some causes such as their society’s environments, foods, families, etc. all experts say that children –in adolescent—will try to find their identities in every sector of society. They also try to do some things new without having any consideration about it, bad or good. As we know, sex is one of many new things for children; their curiosities always push them to know more and more about it and do it unstably.  This problem takes many attentions from all elements like parents, teachers, and governments. For the purpose of this writing, the writer tries to show the harmful effects of sex education which taught wrongly in schools and far from religion’s guidance.

There are some important points that will be researched about sex education such as methods, tools, and all media that used in the process of teaching this material. This writing will also discuss the role of religion (Islam) in guiding the teachers to teach this subject and to help the students to avoid free sex and sexual insulting.

Sexual insulting toward children has becomes a horrible problem in this country. How can’t, it is not only done by adult, but also by children themselves. The wrongness of teaching sex education early are caused by separating religion’s guidance because of our country has adopted west education system. West education system cannot be compared to Indonesian education system, because both west and Indonesia has different culture. If we don’t do any prevention against this problem, free sex will become our new culture. Our good cultures that show our identities will be changed. We can’t close our eyes and let it flow without any action, exactly useful action. We should take our parts to protect our good culture.

As we know, in the past time, our ancient have a best way to avoid their children from bad attitude that is religion. Religion is a way of life. It teaches us how to do everything and to live together wisely. From year to year, century to century, the endurance of it has been tried-and-true and very successful.

In this century, we face against some complicated cause of the quick developing technology. All sorts of suitable and unsuitable can be accessed by our children such as uneducated games, pornography film and sadistic film. As a teacher who has important role in developing of our student. We should do some prevention step. Because Allah swt has said:

"And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed." (An-Nuur verse 30).

School environment is a strategic place for students to learn many things like sociology, biology, economy, etc. however, it’s all only in theory. Students will do more practices outside of class room and school, not exception sex education subject. If a teacher teaches it in the wrong way, it will cause harm effects such as free sex, sexual insulting, and many others. As a teacher we should give good things for our students even though sometimes a teacher does it unconsciously. Because of it, teachers have to teach it with the help of religion’s guidance.
